Alex Rif

Alex was recognized by the Globes Business newspaper in 2018 as one of the 20 most influential Israeli female activists, and the Yediot Ahronoth media group named her one of Israel’s 50 social heroes. Her crowd-funded poetry book, ‘Silly Girl of the Regime,’ won the Matanel award for Promising Young Jewish Poet and the Bourgeoning Poets Award from the Ministry of Culture. Alex immigrated to Israel from Ukraine in 1991 at the age of five. As a “Generation 1.5” (90’s young immigrants) child, who was bullied at school due to her dual identity, she has made it her life’s mission to make social diversity accepted and celebrated in Israel.
